May 29, 2018 I have always been drawn to large bodies of water having grown up on the Great Lakes of the Midwest, and living on the West Coast all of my adult life. When I travel now- increasingly it is to a shoreline of an ocean or the Great Lakes where I have room to think and dream, and watch the play of color from the sky and the water below. #waterscapes #portlandartist #supportlocal #pdxart
May 29, 2018 I welcome commission work, and it has been fun through the years to help a business or a household make and place a piece of my artwork in an intimate setting. Many of the commissions have ended up being something that sent me in a different direction, which I appreciate. My work translates well from small to large, from vertical to horizontal. I’ve also done several large commissions that involve diptychs or triptychs. #portlandartist #supportlocal
May 29, 2018 Inspiration for this body of work comes from a collection of waterways in the Pacific Northwest that are part of my life. They aim to capture beauty and mood of viewing often cloudy skies and the reflection of that sky on water.#portlandartist #artlandia #localart #waterscapes
May 29, 2018 “I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration.” – Frida Kahlo #portlandartist #paint #frenchlandscape
May 29, 2018 Thank you so much for visiting my page! All of my work is original. I have no reproductions. I welcome commissions, and my body of artwork translates well from very small to several feet in size and varied shapes. #portlandartist #artlandia #supportlocal
May 29, 2018 Since 1994 I have spent the month of September plein air painting in France. The paintings and ideas produced in France are the basis of inspiration for a body of work developed in my studio during the rainy Portland winters. This yearly sojourn to France, a beautiful place where I have some time to think and paint, has singularly been the most important thing I have done as an artist to develop my work. #frenchcountryside #portlandartist #paint

May 27, 2018 Monotype prints are beautiful in their imperfection… “A monotype is a print, but with one major difference from other printmaking processes: the artist creates exactly one print, instead of multiples (called editions). This is due to the way a monotype is made.To make a monotype, the artist applies paint or ink directly onto the plate — which can be metal, glass, plexiglas, or even gelatin. The plate is pressed against the paper to transfer the ink. (So the finished print is a mirror image of what’s on the plate.) The printing can be done with a printing press or sometimes by hand.” -excerpt from theartleaugue.org #monotype #monotypeprint #portlandartist
