Willamette Valley Landscapes

In 2025 this artwork was chosen by OHSU (Oregon Health & Sciences University) for the mural wall coverings of new Oncology Unit called Vista Pavilion. This unit will be for oncology patients who will be living in their patient quarters for 30 days without the opportunity to get outside. The beauty of the monotype landscapes of Oregon and Southern Washington gives a feeling of bringing that beauty into their world. OHSU believes in the impact art can have on a person’s spirit–and I feel honored that I was chosen as part of this collection of artists who will provide that extra boost of healing. The unit will open in the spring of 2026.

EARTH, MOUNTAIN and SKY: Willamette Valley Landscapes – 2021 exhibition

My 2021 exhibition at Laura Vincent Design & Gallery was focused on the landscapes in the Willamette Valley near my home in Portland. So much of the beautiful fields, colors and sky remind me of my midwest roots.

Sauvie Island – 2020 Exhibition

Spring of 2020 I developed a body of artwork for my second exhibition “Sauvie Island By My Home“ at Laura Vincent Gallery in the Pearl. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to explore a specific theme, and then present the work.

Willamette Valley

I have lived in Portland since 1980 and experienced many summers of plein air painting here. But my Willamette Valley Series is more intuitive of the sense of calm and beautiful colors of the exquisite landscapes just a short drive from my home in the city.

Eastern Oregon

In 2005 I started a body of paintings and monotypes based on the landscapes around the Pendleton/Blue Mountain and Palouse area of Oregon and Eastern Washington. I work there at the wonderfully remote and inspirational Crow’s Shadow print studio.

Waterscapes

Figurative – Nudes

I’ve drawn the figure from a live model since high school, and continue to do so weekly. The figurative work was my gateway to being an artist.

My figurative work is mostly monotypes, sometimes paintings or on tile. The work ranges in size from very small 4 x 4 inch to 40 H X 34 W paintings and monotypes. People often purchase 2 or 3 small pieces and frame them in a series.

It is very special to me- I work from the same model- like my landscapes I like to visit the same place and therefore work with the same person as my model. Each time I see something different in something familiar. I tend to work in the same color for several months or even a couple of years, and change around the sizes of the work.
